Coach Erin has coached for more than 20 years and been the director of Shooting Stars since its inception 11 years ago. She was a first team All-American at Mt. Hebron HS and UNC. She has coached from Florida to Maine and worked with many local club teams. Erin looks to build personal relationships with players and parents to ensure children of all lacrosse abilities gain the benefits of playing sports.
Coach Laura brings her successful club and high school coaching history to Shooting Stars. Laura was the head coach for the 2012 M&D Red team and was a long-time assistant coach at her alma mater, Mt. Hebron, where the team won 103 consecutive games during her tenure - making them state champs and the #1 ranked team in the country. Coach T is currently playing professionally in the WPLL for the Baltimore Brave and is a recent graduate of Towson University. T has worked with many club teams in the area and currently coaches for M&D. In 2018, T was selected as Towson University's NCAA Woman of the Year. Tianna was an IWLCA Third Team All-American, an IWLCA Senior All-Star selection, an IWLCA First Team All-Mid-Atlantic pick and an ILWomen.com Media Pre, Mid, and Postseason All-America honorable mention choice. Coach Marissa is one of our longest tenured coaches here at Shooting Stars. Entering her 7th year with us, Marissa is a veteran youth lacrosse coach whose knowledge is extensive. Marissa played at HCC and Salibury as well as in high school at Centennial, in Howard County, MD.
Coach Pat was an All-American goalie out of the University of Maryland and Loyola High School. Pat played professionally after college and is currently coaching for HoCo 2024. He brings energy, a vast knowledge base, and high expectations to Shooting Stars. He coaches all over the field but provides extra, expert feedback to the goalies and is often seen pulling them for one-on-one instruction.
In addition to coaching for Shooting Stars, Coach Tony brings an extensive and successful high school, club, and college coaching background with him. Coach Tony has coached for M&D, Mt. Coach Sam played at Mt. Hebron HS and Towson University where she was an Under Armour All American. Recently Sam returned to her alma mater and helped coach Mt. Hebron into the Maryland State Championship. While at Towson University, Sam and her team won two CAA titles and she set the record for the all-time scoring leader in single game, goals in a single season, and career assists. Sam is also the single game and single season record holder for the CAA. Sam currently coaches club level for M&D. To contact Sam for private lessons, email her directly at:
As a member of National Lacrosse Hall of Fame, Coach Wendell is a living legend among coaches. A four-year starter on defense for Towson, Wendell was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1989. He earned first team College Division All-America honors in 1974 and was a second team selection in 1972 and ’73. Coach Wendell earned the USILA’s College Division Outstanding Defenseman award in 1974.
Thomas captained the Tigers to a 14-1 record and the Division II national title as a senior, picking up All-Mason-Dixon Conference and Towson Athlete of the Year honors as well. He was the Club Lacrosse Defenseman of the Year in 1975. While coaching at Atholton High School he was honored as the Howard County Coach of the Year in 1981 and 1982.
